J Danielle, My Comment Was Deleted! What The Fuck, Dude??

I know I know. We all have strong opinions and sometimes those opinions go off topic or are crude and mean spirited. If you have such opinions and feel a burning need to express them there are two web sites I recommend in lieu of you posting those thoughts in my comment section: WordPress and BloggerThere, you can create your own site and name it anything you want (provided the name isn’t taken) and from there you can post all the mean spirited and all-the-way-off topic shit you want. You can even link to my post if that’s what inspired you to speak out.

But please, as long as you are in my comment section, conduct yourself with some dignity. If I can do it, I KNOW you can.

  2. I always find it interesting (read: naive) of people to think that they can get away with saying anything. I’ve had something similar to this happen over on my blog. I write about heavy topics and because I don’t know who’s reading it and I really feel that someone will get some good from it, I moderate all of the comments. A person wanted to leave a comment that wasn’t appropriate or nice or thought out or well-meaning on a blog about Mental Health. They blamed people with mental illness for having the mental illness. Needless to say, they weren’t approved and I was subject to an endless tirade.

I just wish folks would show a certain level of maturity in the public realm.

    • Oh man that’s terrible. I believe strongly in moderating your comment section. If your blog was about convincing people of why they should seek to understand mental illness, then sure there’s some value in debating it. But if it’s a blog for people to come and discuss the issue already having some knowledge, I agree, DELETE.

When I wrote my post on comment moderation I mentioned that some bloggers want comments at all costs. But I’m trying to reach a certain “type” of person. And I can’t get that type of person if my comment section is bastardized.
